Dr. Larissa Steigmann
Dr. Larissa Steigmann earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Goethe University of Frankfurt in 2019. She pursued advanced education at the University of Michigan, completing a Master of Science (M.S.) in Periodontology and graduating in 2022 as a specialist in Periodontics and Oral Medicine.
Dr. Steigmann has conducted extensive research in oral health and implant rehabilitation, with several studies published in peer-reviewed international journals. She also serves as a reviewer for leading journals in periodontology and implant dentistry. Since 2022, Dr. Steigmann has been a faculty member at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity, Division of Periodontology, where she is dedicated to educating and mentoring students. In addition, she works in the Giannobile Lab, focusing on research in personalized medicine.
Dr. Steigmann has received numerous accolades, including the Jeffrey Johnston Fellowship, LeGro Scholarship, Billy A. Smith Award for exceptional communication and patient care, and the prestigious Dr. and Mrs. Kramer Scholar Award of Excellence from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. This award recognizes her outstanding character, academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and commitment to addressing the needs of others.
